The twenty fingers of Antón and Maite Piano Duo have a common goal, which is “to get to the primary idea, to the essence of the work, to strip away everything unnecessary; it is this process of nudity that we also wanted to capture on the cover of Essenz”, as the piano duo Antón & Maite, a couple who have been making music together for ten years, tell us in this interview. This relationship has given birth to their first album, Essenz, for the Ibs Classical label, which includes works by Schubert, Mozart, Mendelssohn and Bolcom.

Anton Dolgov and Maite Leon start a concert tour in China

“The piano duo Antón & Maite starts this July a tour in China, where they will perform in cities such as Shanghai, JiNing, HaiAn, BeiHai and Harbin”.

“With several international awards behind them and a promising career as concert pianists, which was evidenced last February, when they made their debut as soloists in the Mozart Hall of the Auditorio de Zaragoza, performing the Concerto for two pianos and orchestra by F. Poulenc”.

“Antón & Maite played the Sonata K521 by W.A.Mozart…Throughout the whole sonata we appreciated the clear and light articulation of classicism, especially in the first movement and in the third movement…”.

“They followed with the Fantasia D.940 in which the phrasing, the character and the interpretation of the same, with a perfect synchronization between both pianists”

“The concert ended with Ma mere l’oye by Ravel. These five pieces for children were performed with great sensitivity and musical taste. Clearly descriptive, it gave the feeling that the performers themselves were telling us five little stories, recreating the atmosphere of Ravel’s music”
