




The Duo
ANTON & MAITE PIANO DUO have performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, such as the Palau de la Música Catalana, the Sala Mozart, the Grand Theatre of Harbin (China), the Musikverein of Graz or the Philharmonic Hall of Krakow. The high level of their interpretations, together with their personality and freshness on stage, has earned them dozens of international prizes, including the Antón García Abril Competition, the Luiggi Zanuccoli Competition in Italy or the Mirabent i Magrans Competition in Sitges. His first CD “ESSENZ”, produced by the label IBS Classical, was awarded the Golden award by Melómano and 5 stars by Ritmo Magazine. Professional critics have described it as “elegant and tasty”, “a CD bordering on perfection” and a “sensual experience”. Their passion for communication and their work in defense of the piano duo have made them one of the most recognized duos of today.

PROJECTS

The day and the death
A heritage recovery project where you will learn about the most personal work of the composer Fernando Remacha. You will discover the links that unite the famous composer from Navarre with Debussy and Stravinsky. An exciting concert full of chiaroscuro, with death as the leitmotiv, told from three different perspectives, with some of the most monumental works of the 20th century.
premier at the UPNA
Antón and Maite are collaborating with the Public University of Navarra in an artistic project to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the birth of the composer Fernando Remacha. On 9 and 10 November 2023, they will be holding a conference during which they will present the previously unpublished presentation of the Reduction for two pianos of Fernando Remacha’s Sinfonía en tres tiempos (1925). The Spanish duo will also be in charge of the editing of the manuscript.


ESSENZ (CD)
A project that highlights the value of music written for piano four hands, reviewing some of the key works in the evolution of the genre. Among them, the fathers of the duo, Mozart and Schubert, cannot be missed. A journey that culminates with the unparalleled virtuosity of Mendelssohn and the rebelliousness of the American William Bolcom.
